PhD in Urban, Regional and Environmental Design (2002) is associate professor of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Florence (UniFi) Italy where she coordinates the Ph.D. Program on Urban and Regional Planning. Her research interests include critical planning, interactive design and urban governance, urban diversity, multiscalar urbanization, urban political ecology, and the self-organising city. Since 2015 she is the Founding Director of the Research Laboratory of Critical Planning and Design. Among her publications are listed: “DiverCity” (FrancoAngeli 2010); “Space Matters” (with Giancarlo Paba), in A. Balducci et.al., Post-Metropolitan Territories (Routledge 2017); “Cities in Motion” (Guerini, forthcoming). Perrone is also editor of “Critical Planning & Design: Roots, pathways, and frames” (Springer, 2021).
